Majura Probus Club visit

We had a wonderful visit from a group of ladies linked to the Majura Probus Club on Tuesday 8th September. It was a delightful spring day and they especially enjoyed their Devonshire Tea - scones, jam & cream.

One of the Heritage Centre's volunteers, Peter Browning, presented a very interesting overview of how the centre got started and he explained the various display galleries we have on the campus.

His most entertaining stories though are about local history - the people, the places and the escapades that have unfolded over the past one hundred or so years.

Participants were then taken on a tour of the old 1911 school which is set up to show a one-teacher bush school between the two world wards and to our two education rooms - Home Sweet Home (which showcases village domestic life before electricity) and Down on the Farm - an overview of how the village of Hall grew and developed.
