We were delighted to host a rather large group of members from the Kaleen Probus Club on Sunday 17th May. Despite ongoing renovations to the front entrance off Palmer Street, all the visitors managed to find their way into the main display space to enjoy a chat from our Family History Co-ordinator Peter Browning, who regales some wonderful narratives about many of the interesting pioneers of the Ginninderra Creek catchment area.

Our guests also enjoyed a morning tea before heading off to visit the other display spaces:

  • Stones that Speak - an exhibition of rock artefacts from the Lyall Gillespie Collection
  • the old 1911 school curated with furniture typical of a bush school between the two world wars
  • Home Sweet Home - an interactive display space which features domestic life before the coming of electricity to Hall village
  • Down on the Farm - tells the story of the development of the local rural farmland from the time of the early settlers to the identification and settlement of the village of Hall
