Volunteers welcomed more than 100 visitors to the centre on Sunday afternoon, 19th April, from the Embassy of the People's Republic of China.

The Ambassador and his staff had previously attended a lunch at Gold Creek Homestead where they were hosted with a typical rural lunch and entertained with sheep shearing and sheep dogs showing off their skills.

They then came to the Hall Heritage Centre for a look around our displays. With so many visitors we organised 3 groups to visit:

  • the main galleries featuring 10,000 years on Halls Creek, Hall Village, Ginninderra and the Gillespie Collection
  • Stones that Speak
  • the 1911 bush school and
  • the two education rooms - Home Sweet Home & Down on the Farm.

The feedback from visitors was very positive with many keen to return.
