Maren moves on

16 September 2024

Volunteers gathered on Sunday 15 September to thank Maren Innes for her wonderful service to the Centre. Initially volunteering as a University of Canberra student, the Centre was subsequently able to find the funds to make her our part- time employee for around three years. Over that time she has worked mostly in the collection management area, including assistance to the Southwell Family archive, the Bush Schools collection and the on-going accessioning of donations and material created of our exhibitions.

Her conservation knowledge and skills were in steady demand - restoring particularly items, pest control, and presenting training workshops. She leaves many friends and admirers behind - through she is quick to say that she will be keeping in touch after winning full time employment at the National Library of Australia.

She was presented with a box of chocolates, cash and a Certificate. Our photo shows Maren with Graham Wilson, Alastair Crombie, Phil Robson, Ann Lomax, and Ralph Southwell. Our warmest best wishes Maren!
