Visit by Covenant Care Day Centre
29 April 2013
The Museum hosted a number of the Centre's clients together with their carers on 29 April.
A sumptuous morning tea with scones, jam and cream with fresh coffee and tea was served when the group arrived. This was all prepared and finely presented in the Cottage by the museum volunteers.
After that came a conducted tour beginning with the old schoolroom and the Mens Shed display, then on to the 'Hall 1913' exhibition and the Bush Schools display and finally the heritage display. All displays were popular with the visitors.
The volunteer guides assisted the carers with the mobility impaired visitors and the museum hired ramps for the day for these visitors to enter all the buildings and not miss out on any of the displays.
A great morning was had by all with the promise of return visits in the near future.
The photo shows Museum volunteers Judy Roberts and Joan Christie assisting one of the visitors into a wheelchair to access the 'Hall 1913' display.
