The Yass Valley History Centre hosts presentations from local museums, heritage centres and like-minded individuals focussing on local heritage.

On Monday 2nd June Ken Heffernan, a volunteer with the Hall Heritage Centre, gave a presentation about a wonderful collection gifted to the centre in 2015 by the Gillespie family, after the death of Lyall Gillespie.

It is a very large collection with diverse elements within it. Ken and his team have been accessioning and cataloguing the collection ever since and during his presentation he shared those experiences with attendees. His presentation also focussed on how the team have now been able to share and preserve the collection, so others can enjoy it.

The collection also holds a number of Indigenous items, which have been identified with culturally sensitive input from local indigenous representatives and can now be displayed for all to see and appreciate.
