Melba Men's Shed visit
4 March 2025

Melba Shedders listening to the centre's Family History Co-ordinator Peter Browning as he shares some of the many heritage stories we have to tell.
Friday 28th February saw another community group visit the Hall Heritage Centre for morning tea, heritage talk and tour of the campus.
The Men's Shed from Melba had previously visited our local Men's Shed and had expressed an interest in spending some time finding out about the history of the village and its surrounds and so made a return visit to the village.
Peter Browning, our Family History Co-ordinator, has spent a great deal of time investigating his own family history from around the district and now enjoys sharing some of the wonderful stories he and other volunteer researchers have amassed over the past ten years.
Visitors are always offered a tour of the campus as well and the:
- 1911 bush school,
- Stones that Speak display (local Indigenous artefacts and information)
- Bush Schools' Collection and
- two education rooms, where visitors are encouraged to interact with the artefacts on display, are always well
received.
The Shedders gave the centre a handsome donation which will be put to very good use.
