'Ginninderry' gathering
13 February 2020
The Centre was well represented at a special gathering at The Link, Ginninderry recently. Alastair Crombie was amongst those to address the gathering, giving some background to the display 'A palette of pioneer places', which has been mounted at The Link for the past four weeks. The display is based on a series of watercolour paintings of heritage places by Isla Patterson, to which Centre volunteers, led by Mardie Troth, have added historical and geographic context.
The occasion also featured the launch of the latest of the 'Hidden Treasures' booklet produced by the Conservation Council of the ACT - Ginninderry's Hidden Treasures, and of a series of high quality 'postcards' created from research undertaken by Mary Hutchison on Ginninderry's local history. The gathering was also addressed by Wally Bell, representing the Ginninderry Aboriginal Advisory Group.
