Visit by North Canberra Probus Group
21 November 2012
The North Canberra Probus Group visited the Hall School Museum on Monday 19 November.
Nineteen ladies from the group were served a scrumptious morning tea prepared by the volunteer "Friends of Hall Museum" in the community cottage. Whilst the group were enjoying the morning tea Honorary Curator Phil gave a short information session on the Hall School history and the establishment of the Museum.
The group was broken up into smaller groups to view the Hall School Museum, the Bush Schools exhibition and the Heritage Display.
There was a great deal of interest shown in the collection and the stories associated with the history of the school. The volunteer guides were kept busy with the volume of questions fired at them from all corners.
After two hours, the group left the School Museum greatly impressed with the displays and with the large amount of work carried out by the volunteers.
Many thanks to all of the dedicated volunteers who assisted with the setting up of the morning tea, the preparation of the displays and the friendly and informative guiding of the visitors.
