John Albert Butler - Obituary
We regret to record the death on Tuesday last in the Queanbeyan Hospital of Mr John Butler junr aged 45 years after a very short illness, the cause of death being blood poisoning and he was an inmate of the institution for about a week. He was the eldest son of Mr John Butler and a native of the district being born at Ginninderra. He married Annie, daughter of Mr P Lawless of Gidleigh, Bungendore who survives him together with one son and daughter. The sisters and brothers of the deceased reside in Sydney. Mesdames A Armstrong and G Allen, North Sydney, and Messrs R and F Butler who live at Glebe and Paddington respectively. The late Mr Butler was a good judge of horse and always followed the racing fixtures with interest. He was a well known figure at all Ginninderra Shows and was well liked by all with whom he came in contact. The funeral took place this afternoon in the RC Cemetery and was largely attended. Much sympathy is felt for the Butler family as it is only a few months since Mrs Butler senr died. [Queanbeyan Age and Canberra Advocate. 26.4.1927]
A picture show is to be seen on December 10 in aid of Mrs J Butler. Mrs Butler had the misfortune to lose her husband a few months ago and is left with two young children to support. [Queanbeyan Age 6.12.1927]
