Marriage of Patrick Rolfe
A very pretty wedding was solemnised at St Peter's, Surry Hills, on 2nd inst, the contracting parties being Patrick, fifth son of Mr Edmund Rolfe, of Gold Creek, Ginninderra, Queanbeyan, and Flora Dunn, youngest daughter of Mr Francis Dunn, of Mimosa Glen, Sutton. The ceremony was performed by the Rev R Collender, in the presence of a number of friends and relatives.
The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr W Dunn, of Mudgee, was charmingly attired in a cream Sicilian coatee, with elbow sleeves, trimmed with applique, and vest of goffered chiffon, pleated skirt, and toque or crinoline straw trimmed with folded chiffon and chiffon streamers. She wore a diamond ring and gold chain and cross, the gift of the bridegroom. The bridesmaids were Miss Mollie O'Mara, who wore cream Sicilian, with rows of black velvet ribbon on pleated skirt, and a coatee effect was given to the bodice, black picture hat. She also wore a gold cross, a gift from the bridegroom; and Miss Linda Turnbull, who wore pale blue silk, yoke of cream lace and chiffon frills, crinoline straw hat to match. She also wore a gold neck chain and heart pendant. Mr Harry Rolfe (cousin of the bridegroom) was best man.
After the ceremony the wedding party drove to the ABC Cafe, where the wedding breakfast was served. The bride's travelling dress was light grey tweed semi-sacque coat and pleated skirt, relieved with emerald green velvet and pink tulle, with hat to match. The happy couple intend making their future home in the Queanbeyan district.
