Rediscovering Ginninderra:
William King
Born: c. 1774
William King must have been a trusted convict in the eyes of George Palmer, as he had been working for him since at least 1823 when he is recorded in the muster as being one of Palmer's 'Crown Servants' at Bathurst.
He had been in the colony since 1814 when he was transported to Australia on the Baring. At that time he was aged 40, which means he must have been born around 1774. He had been tried at Middlesex, London in September 1813 and received a life sentence.
At Ginninderra in 1828 he was working on Palmer's estate as a shepherd. It is not known at this stage what happened to him after this.
